Technical, Fundamental or Strategy — Which Matters Most?

Analysis can show you the route. But knowing when to change the route may matter even more.

If you ask me what matters most in the market — Technical Analysis, Fundamental Analysis or Strategy? Then perhaps my answer will sound a little different.

Everyone talks about analysis. But what actually makes the difference in the market?

Because I won't name any indicator, strategy or balance sheet. Instead, let me tell you a small incident.

What matters more — being right, or reaching your destination?

Imagine You Are Driving to a New City

You are travelling to a new city in your car. You open Google Maps to understand the route.

After driving a few kilometres, you suddenly discover that the road ahead is closed.

And let's be honest... that happens sometimes.

Now you have two choices.

1

Keep Following the Original Route

Continue driving simply because Google Maps originally showed you that route.

2

Take a U-Turn

Accept that the route is no longer usable, change direction and find another way.

Most people would choose the second option. Right?

🧭

The Goal Is the Destination

Because their goal is not to prove that the route is right. Their goal is to reach the destination in the right way.

But the same person often changes as soon as they enter the stock market.

What Happens in the Market?

  • The chart changes.
  • The data changes.
  • The company's story changes.
  • The market environment changes.
  • But the trader still refuses to change the position.

Do you know why?

Because now the goal quietly changes.

The Real Problem
The goal becomes not to make money, but to prove yourself right.

And this is where something interesting happens.

Technical Analysis also loses.

Strategy also loses.

Fundamental Analysis also loses.

Why?

Because the job of all three is ultimately to show you the route.

📊

Technical Analysis

Helps you understand price and market behaviour.

🏢

Fundamental Analysis

Helps you understand the business and its value.

🎯

Trading Strategy

Helps you structure your decisions and execution.

But none of them can take responsibility for what you do after the market changes.

Your Responsibility
Walking... stopping... and taking a U-Turn when needed is your responsibility.

From experience, I would say just one thing...

The Fastest Route Matters

The most successful people in the market are not those whose analysis is never wrong.

They are the people who can recognize when they are on the wrong route — and leave it the fastest.

And perhaps...

The Most Important Principle
To reach the destination, changing the route at the right time is more important than being right.

The market doesn't reward you for defending your prediction.

It rewards you for responding intelligently to reality.

Living in reality is better than living in the world of illusions.
